And such a topic is so related to our daily life that it’s easy to arouse students’ learning interests. In accordance with the teaching material and the new syllabus of English, I designed the following objectives:II. Teaching objectives:1. Knowledge and abilities: To let students be further familiar with the grammar structure “present perfect tense”: To train students’ comprehensive abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing 2. Procedures and methods: To help students learn how to use the reading strategies in the reading comprehension, such as prediction, skimming, scanning, and guessing the meaning of the words from the context.3. Emotional attitudes and moral values: To let students express their hometown feelings and arouse the students’ love to their hometowns.III. Teaching key points and difficult points:Key points: 1. To let the students learn how to use the reading strategies in reading comprehension.2. To use present perfect tense to talk about changes in hometowns.Difficult points: 1. To let the students use suitable reading strategies in different reading tasks.2. To use present perfect tense to talk about changes in hometowns.IV. Teaching approaches and learning methods1. What do you feel about your hometown?Stimulate the students’ learning interest and lead in the topic: changes, hometown feelings.Step 2Pre-readingEncourage students to discuss the questions relating to the text before reading it.Discuss the questions:1. Why do millions of Chinese leave the countryside every year?2. How often do you think these people visit their hometown?3.
